Northern California Tribal Court Coalition (NCTCC) invites applications for the position of full time Executive Director. 

Position: Executive Director

Status: Full Time + Benefits

Location: Eureka, California

Reports to: Board of Directors

Northern California Tribal Court Coalition (NCTCC) invites applications for the position of full time Executive Director. 

Requirements

Two (2) years’ experience in managing projects, financial administration, or business operations; education and experience as a paralegal (minimum) or attorney (new JD program graduates will be considered); ability to work with tribal communities and tribal courts; high standard of commitment to integrity and ethics; residence within commuting distance of the Eureka office or willingness to relocate (at your own expense).

Qualifications

  • Legal training and experience necessary to coordinate and administer an intertribal appellate court;
  • Experience with federal, state, and/or private grant management, reporting, and compliance;
  • Maintain and expand current programs using strategic planning & innovative thinking;
  • Ability and willingness to seek out funds from donors, foundations, and government agencies;
  • Develop and nurture partnerships with community and social service organizations and tribal agencies;
  • Plan, coordinate, and provide trainings and technical support for clients utilizing the organization’s programs;
  • Represent the organization at presentations, conferences, and events;
  • Ability to develop staff capacity to deliver excellent programming;
  • Ability and commitment to demonstrate leadership;
  • Understanding of principles of financial management;
  • Experience with directing projects, developing project timelines, and meeting project goals;
  • Aptitude for managing and developing technology solutions;
  • Knowledge of human resources management principles;
  • Previous experience with or knowledge of tribal communities is a plus.

Compensation

Pay and benefits include:

  • Hourly rate of $25-60 per hour, depending on the availability of grant funding;
  • 30 hour full time work week;
  • Potential eligibility for federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program;
  • Medical insurance stipend at 10% of salary (when grants allow for such);
  • Paid time off at 8 hours per month, up to 96 hours per year;
  • Eight (8) paid holidays per year.

NCTCC is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving tribal communities in Humboldt, Del Norte, and Siskiyou Counties. We operate a digital self-help program, develop a mobile App for domestic violence advocates and survivors, provide technical support and public education in issues that impact the Tribal communities we serve, and operate the Rights of Mother Earth program which focuses on legal protections for Tribal homelands and resources.
